More about Peter

Peter Moore, born 2001, is an American road and track cyclist currently based in Wageningen, the Netherlands. Raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA, he began track cycling at age eight and road racing at age twelve. A seven-time U.S. junior national track cycling champion, Peter represented the United States at the UCI Track Cycling Junior World Championships in 2018 and 2019. In 2021 he raced for the AG2R Citroën U23 Team on the road and got his first real introduction to European road and track racing. His 2022 season marked a shift to a track focus which resulted in several CL1 podiums and a 5th place finish in the Cali Nations Cup. 2023 was his most successful season yet, with wins at the C1 level on the track, and a foray into the professional six day circuit. 2024 marks the end of Olympic qualification and the Paris Olympics. Upon leaving university at the end of December 2023, Peter is committed 100% towards pursuing a berth at the Olympic Games.

From 2013 to 2020, Peter competed in cross-country (Nordic) skiing for Saint Paul Academy (high school), Endurance United (club), and in his final year Bowdoin College (university). A five-time USSA junior national All American, Peter won the Minnesota State Meet in his senior year of high school. In his first year at Bowdoin College, he was the youngest skier in the U.S. to qualify for the NCAA Championships in Bozeman, Montana. Peter finished his competitive ski career in March 2020 as the third-ranked U.S. male skier born in 2001.

Moore graduated high school from Saint Paul Academy in 2019, and will graduate from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine in May 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in integrative biology.
